Greystone At Piedmont Park

Atlanta, GA
Piedmont Park has always been the hub of Atlanta’s recreational activity.   The Bathhouse was originally a wooden structure built in 1911.  In 1927, the existing building was constructed as a locker room for the City of Atlanta pool located within the park. In 2009 Piedmont Park Conservancy began a $41.2 million renovation that included the Piedmont Park Bathhouse. The  bathhouse has been renovated to Greystone at Piedmont, the LEED-certified,  elegant event facility; and the pool to the popular Piedmont Park Aquatic Center.  As part of LEED certification, plants appropriate for the climate were installed.  Following LEED requirements, SKB’s landscape designer created a perennial garden using drought resistant plants that thrive in Atlanta’s climate.  In addition to the use of appropriate plant material, a rain garden was installed to capture rainwater and drip irrigation was used to reduce irrigation waste and gain LEED credits.
